The progress of the Security Sector in the international arena is indeed very significant. Modern security apparatus, systems, and programs for protecting the lives and properties of people enhance the safety in our society. This progress however, faces the challenge of some people who make use of this technology for vicious purposes. These people are moving fast from one place to another taking advantage of the availability of transportation, communications, and modern technology. Ironically, such progresses contributed in spreading criminality elsewhere.

For these reasons, security organizations are compelled to persistently act and put great efforts to thwart criminalities and its cohorts anywhere. The security sector needs to review its concepts, make plans, and determine its priorities according to security and safety requirements in the third millenary. Security sectors should strategically deal with crimes. Also concerted and united effort should be done to come up with the most advanced security plan. Constant and intelligent steps should be undertaken to stand against any danger. Vigilance to current situations and anticipation of the future must also be observed.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is now witnessing historical and vital changes. It lives in this glorious era under the leadership of His Majesty the King Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the loyal support of His Highness the Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the support of His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the crown prince and Commander-In-Chief of the Defense Force. In order to safeguard the great achievement and progress, security measures have to be undertaken. Security is an important factor for the democratic and constitutional transformations and the rule of law and for building and safeguarding the institutions of the state. Together with equality and freedom, Security is a factor in the development and progress of the country. Society can achieve greater progress and live in harmony and stability through social justice and campaign against crime.

The Ministry of Interior, under its wise leadership is now continuing to utilize modern technology and further plans to accompany its duties with the aid of scientific progress. It works real hard on scientific planning in all its programs and decides its targets according to an overall strategy taking in consideration all the changes and challenges facing the Security issues of Bahrain. The Ministry carries out its job based on the civilized tradition with which the Bahrain Public Security Force was established, that is, based on discipline, to safeguard the state and security of the country, and to deal with citizens in a civilized manner, letting them cooperate and participate in attaining overall Security. Making the people participate and be the first security stalwarts would eventually achieve the main goal which is the protection of the whole nation. Citizens have a big role in fighting crime that is why they should cooperate with the Security authorities to safeguard the progress of this country.
