For requesting the police assistance

The policeman is always at your service and he is ready to respond to a call and perform his duty dealing with emergency cases. In this respect you can contact 999 for assistance and your call will be immediately responded to when:

	a crime is expected to be committed
	a crime is happening
	fear of an incident which will develop into a serious disturbance or crime
	a person/persons are seriously injured or in danger
	to report a family member or friend as a missing person

In non-emergency cases contact your local police station

When will the electronic notification service be used ?

This service will be used in the following cases

	To report any suspicious incident
	To report any security proposal such as need for additional police patrols shortage of street lighting abandoned cars etc;
	To give information on any case or crime
	All the reports will be dealt with confidentially and will be used for the purposes of security only.

What is a report ?

The report is an official procedure with which the police authority will begin an enquiry when a victim submits to the police the allegation which maybe against a person whose identity is known/not known

When is the report to be submitted ?

	When you are a victim of a crime
	When property is lost/found

How do you submit a report ?

	Any report will be recorded in writing at one of the police directorates/stations
	To contact 999 and to be ready to submit the written report later

 
What is the information required when submitting the report ?

	Date time and place of the incident
	The identity/description of the persons who committed the crime
	The circumstances of the incident
	Any other related information that may be useful to the prosecutor/investigation.
